Turkey passport photo size & rules
Turkey uses a distinctive 50x60mm biometric photo format (biyometrik fotograf) for passports, equal to 590x709 pixels at 300 dpi. This is wider and different from the common European 35x45mm rectangle, so a photo prepared for a Schengen visa will not fit a Turkish passport application. Turkish biometric rules require the face to be centred and take up a defined proportion of this larger frame, with the head clearly shown from the top of the hair to below the chin.
The background must be plain white and uniform, evenly lit so no shadow appears behind the head. Face the camera directly with a neutral expression and mouth closed, both eyes open and clearly visible, and keep the head straight and uncovered. Turkey asks that glasses be removed where possible; if worn, there must be no glare, reflection, or tint, and the eyes must remain visible. Head coverings are only accepted for religious reasons, provided the full face from the chin to the top of the forehead is shown. The photo must be recent and reflect your current appearance, taken within the last six months.
Pixohub sizes your Turkish passport or visa photo to the 50x60mm / 590x709 pixel format on a white background directly in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and your image stays private on your own device, and the tool is free. Turkish biometric photo requirements are updated over time by the relevant authorities and consulates. Always confirm the current official specifications with the Nufus (population directorate) or your nearest Turkish consulate before printing or submitting your photo.
